I
attended the California College of Arts and Crafts where I studied
jewelry making, stone setting and engraving. I am an engraver, jeweler
and designer who lives on a remote island 16 miles southwest of Sitka
Alaska where I am the sole inhabitant. The Island sits in the outside
waters of Sitka Sound where I have the privilege of witnessing both
the
subtle and calm beauty as well as the power and fury of the many North
Pacific storms that pummel this Tongass Island. The wildness of this
place, the people, culture, wildlife and spirituality have not just
influenced
me but have become who I am. My hope and challenge is to reflect this
life and this place in my art.
